An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving

Only one week away, its time to start preparing for that famous Thanksgiving Dinner we so enjoy. This year we are going to my brother and sister-in-law's house in the country.
I'm bringing the homemade cranberry sauce (no canned sauce will do at all) pumpkin pies, and
the sweet potatoes--along with anything else I feel like making. And I love the cooking part as well as the eating part. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

  1. We're still trying to nail our Thanksgiving plans -- thank goodness for flexibility. It'll either be at Rick's house (I'll do the table, bring the stuffing and dessert and he'll do the turkey or turkey breast, potatoes, and veggie or salad) OR we'll go to his aunt's in Toledo or at the Lake (dicey this year, I think). I think the kids are with their mom, so we'll probably have dessert with them. May invite a friend. Or maybe not, because by the time we figure out what we're doing, the friends will be committed. But as long as I can bring my turkey plates, I'm happy.

  2. We'll have dinner at my sister and brother-in-law's house. It won't be quite as large a family gathering this year because my sister, Honey, and her family are visiting in-laws this year. My eldest son, Sean, and his girlfriend, Samone, will join us...a plus for me since I'm never sure what his plans are these days. *smile* Michael took off Friday so we'll have a nice long weekend to relax afterward.

Today the boys and I are headed to Philadelphia for a field trip. It's supposed to snow...should be cold but fun. love you
